St. Cletus School Awarded Red Ribbon Certification

School Recognized for Improving Students' Health and Wellness

St. Cletus School in La Grange celebrated its Red Ribbon Certification at an assembly on October 4. St. Cletus School received the award earlier this year at the National Association of Elementary School Principals Conference in recognition of the school’s improvement of academic performance through student health, wellness, safety, and alcohol and drug prevention.

Among those attending the assembly were U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski; Jim Rigg, the Superintendent of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools; and Tim Andries, LaGrange police officer and DARE instructor.

“It takes a village that includes teachers, parents, and students to promote a positive life for our students,” said Christy Schaefer, Assistant Principal of St. Cletus.
