Stranger In Car, Thefts: La Grange Cops
A resident found a man in his car in the middle of the night, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – In the last few days, La Grange police handled cases involving a stranger in a car, thefts, stolen mail, a fraudulent social media account and a fired employee. Here is the information from the latest La Grange police reports:
Stranger in car
- A resident in the 100 block of North Gilbert Avenue saw someone sitting in his parked car about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Once the stranger saw the resident, he ran away.

- A landscaper told police Tuesday that someone stole his unsecured and unattended gas-powered leaf blower from the parkway near La Grange Road and Goodman Avenue. The air conditioner was valued at $500.
- An air conditioner valued at $3,000 was reported stolen from a house Tuesday in the 100 block of Sawyer Avenue.
- A bicycle valued at $700 was reported stolen Tuesday from an unlocked garage in the 900 block of West Arlington Avenue.
Stolen mail
- A resident in the 900 block of Country Club Drive told police Wednesday that outgoing mail was stolen from her mailbox. Checks totaling more than $3,000 were stolen. Another resident in the same block also reported mail removed from his mailbox. Police said they had no suspects.
Fired employee

- An employer based at the La Grange hospital, 5101 Willow Springs Road, hired someone to work from home. Company equipment was dropped off at the employee's house. Then the employee was fired. The equipment was never turned. A report was filed Tuesday.
Fraudulent social media account
- An employee at the campus of Gurrie Middle and Spring Avenue Elementary schools, 1001 S. Spring Ave., learned July 28 that someone created a Snapchat account using his likeness. An investigation continues.
