Street Argument, Thefts: La Grange Cops
A pedestrian said a dispute with a driver caused him to fear for his safety, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – In the last few days, La Grange police handled cases involving an argument, thefts of catalytic converters, a burglary, a scam and fraudulent charges. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:
Argument
- A pedestrian told police about 8 p.m. Sunday that he got into an argument with a driver in the 10 block of Sixth Avenue, causing him to fear for his safety. The driver left the area.

- Catalytic converters were stolen from 17 vehicles in a business parking lot at 500 E. Cossitt. The loss was estimated at more than $10,000. Video shows two suspects removing the converters. The report was filed Tuesday.
- Catalytic converters were stolen from several cars parked in the lot at Gerber Collision & Glass, 300 Washington Ave. The report was filed Wednesday.
Burglary
- A battery charger valued at $200 was stolen in the last several months from a garage in the 700 block of South Waiola. The report was filed Monday.
Scam

- A resident in the 1000 block of South Waiola was victimized by a scammer while trying to sell an item online. The seller lost $200. The report was filed Tuesday.
Fraudulent charges
- A resident on Beacon Place told police Wednesday that several fraudulent charges totaling more than $10,000 appeared on the resident's credit card. The bank removed the charges and is investigating.
No valid license
- A 19-year-old Cicero man was cited about 2 p.m. May 25 at Ogden and Clausen on charges of no valid driver's license and improper lane use.
