SWIFT NATURE CAMP INVOKES CARING

Swift Nature Camp is a non-competitive Children’s Summer Camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities with opportunities for every camper to increase appreciation for nature, science and the environment. Our remarkable programs encourage bright, curious and creative children to reconnect with nature and learn about themselves from nature’s challenges.

SNC is located in beautiful northwestern Wisconsin. Our 80 acres of lush pine, oak, and birch is a perfect place for those who love to be out in nature. Bordering camp is another 1,500 acres of county forest. We have a sandy beach and nearly 1/2 mile of open lake front on the Minong Flowage. This 1500 acre lake provides the perfect setting for water skiing, canoeing, and sailing.

Surrounded by nature, our intentional child centered community is where a child’s ideas, creativity, and discovery are celebrated. Through fun activities and positive staff role models, we help children develop the lifelong skills of confidence, teamwork, leadership, compassion and communication. The guided challenges at camp help increase every child’s personal resilience.

Our small size allows us to give our attention to each child’s unique personal development by providing fun, friendship and opportunities for leadership in a supportive and noncompetitive environment. While children are home all year long, you are busy planting the seeds and shaping the thinking patterns which will guide your childs behavior and social choices when they are on their own. Summer camp offers your child the perfect, safe opportunity to act on their own, be self-reliant and try things for themselves.

Discovery Camp is the prefect opportunity for your first time campers. SNC dedicates this program to those who might be a little reluctant to leave home for the first time. They keep enrollment small to under 50 children with 5 campers in each cabin with 2 staff, so each child gets plenty of support and encouragement while at camp. Plus no teen are at camp keeping it kid focused.

Becoming independent is a major part of growing up. Children at camp find adult friends called counselors, who model positive life skills like perseverance, listening, teamwork and appreciation of differences --skills that set new standards for their own behavior. This new developing independence will grow in line with your at-home teachings.

Swift Nature Camp can be an opportunity for children to start anew. They get to come to a new place and try new things and make new friends. Our Nature Summer Camp is a fresh new world where the best about who you are meets the best of who you want to be. Many of our kids return year after year saying that “Swift allows me to be my real self with real people”.
