Teachers Tucker and Engstrom are “Cutie Pies” at McDonald's

DeKalb|Malta Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School.

Teachers and support staff from Malta volunteered behind the counter and at the Drive-Thru on Thursday, August 29th, 2019, at the DeKalb McDonald's located on W. Lincoln Hwy., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser.

Many Malta teachers worked hard all night behind the counter serving food and sold pies for donations. While teachers Tucker and Engstrom wore the pie box, teachers Fox, Cinnamon, and Peterson were some of the teachers who sold the pies during the night.

The proceeds from the 240 Apple Pies sold went directly to benefit the students at Malta Elementary. The PTO plans to use the money raised for field trips, and Scholastic News and Times for the children. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to Malta.

John Lardas, Owner-Operator of the DeKalb McDonald's is delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
