Teens Robbed At Gunpoint: La Grange Police

Two teenagers were robbed at gunpoint Thursday night while walking on Goodman Avenue.

LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange Police are investigating an armed robbery of two teenagers that took place Thursday night at Seventh and Goodman avenues. Police said two males, ages 18 and 19, were walking eastbound on Goodman near Sixth Avenue at 9:41 p.m., when two other teenage males approached the victims.

According to a release, the offending teenagers told the victims to give them their phones and money, while displaying a handgun. The two victims handed over their phones to the suspects.

Police said the suspects fled on foot westbound Goodman toward Sixth Avenue and retrieved two bikes they had left in a nearby yard. One of the victims ran after the offenders as they left the area southbound on Sixth Avenue. The victim pursued both offenders until 49th street then lost sight of them as they continued southbound on Sixth.

According to a release, the two suspects are described as black males, 16 to 18 years old. One suspect was 6'0" to 6'2", with short hair and a slim build. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants, and displayed a black semi-automatic pistol. The other suspect was described as being 5'8" to 6'0", with short hair and a slim build. He was shirtless and wearing black shorts with a gray tank top wrapped around his face, he was also wearing high white socks.

Police said no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and no additional crimes were discovered or reported to police.

Police said increased patrols on the residential streets have already been implemented. The Investigations Division is actively working the case and trying to identify the offenders.
