Ten Reasons to Avoid Genetically Modified Foods

Have you heard of GMO (genetically modified organism) foods are?  Did you know that over 70% of the foods found in supermarkets are GMO?  What is this that most of the world knows about but very few do in the United States.  In Europe, certain countries have either banned it or made it a law to show a label of what is GMO and which products are non-GMO.  In Japan, it was completely banned from their country.  Throughout the world, it is either labeled or banned but in Canada and the United States, it is not.

So what worries me as a practitioner is the dangerous health effects that are resulting in this new process.  There is growing research that shows these foods cause cancer, infertility, blood disorders, leukemia and more.  The other factor that is scarier to me than the potential causes of diseases from this is, after the GMO seed has been used, it has no more life.  In other words, you will need a brand new seed to plant into the ground to create a new crop.  The plant will not reproduce seeds.  The life of the seed ends.  This stops all natural processes created by Mother Earth.  Imagine if there was a mass cross pollination and this effects all crops eventually.  That means, our food supply will be at threat and it creates something that is only seen in the movies. 

I hope in this brief blog, it paints a picture of how deadly these things are and the effects it can have on the fate of humanity.  Most people focus on things that are not so relevant such as a Royal Baby, celebrity lives or whatever may be posted on the media instead of focusing on what truly matters.  GMO foods are a huge threat to our health and humanity overall.  There is still enough time to wipe these things out of our food supply and/or give us, the consumers, a right to know what is exactly in our food.  The choice is ours.  Even when Obama signed, "The Monsanto Protection Act," which states Monsanto is immuned to any law suits that may be filed against them for the cause of what GMO foods can create.  If these are so safe, why is the company that makes these foods, "Immune," to any lawsuits? 

If we can come together on this issue, we will have the right to label and/or eliminate all together.  The state of Connecticut and Maine have already passed a law to label all GMO foods in their state.  They need 3 more states to do this in order to fully be put into effect.   To learn about 10 reasons why we should avoid GMO foods, enjoy an article written by Dr. Mercola that explains it in full detail
