Theatre of Western Springs Hosts Fundraiser, New Auction Items Revealed
The 87th Season Reveal Fundraiser will take place at 7 p.m., March 12, at Mecenat Bistro.
The Theater of Western Springs will host it’s 87th Season Reveal Fundraiser at 7 p.m. March 12 at Mecenat Bistro, 821 Burlington Ave., Western Springs.
The plays comprising the upcoming 2015-16 season will be revealed at the fundraiser, and until then, the titles are shrouded in secrecy, according to a news release.
“The plays chosen by the Play Selection and Casting Committee are always a closely guarded secret,” said Eddie Sugarman, executive artistic director at the Theatre of Wester Springs, in a statement. “It’s great fun to announce them at one time, and we thought an Academy Award type of event would be fun for our guests.”

In addition to the grand reveal, the fundraiser will feature food, a live auction, a silent auction and entertainment by Clarence Goodman, a musician, historian and radio personality.
Live auction items includes:

- tickets to the Bette Midler concert
- a pastel portrait to be painted by artist Bob Baker
- a one week Royal Aloha timeshare stay
- dinner and two tickets to the Lyric Opera
- White Sox tickets with a personal tour and the winner’s name on the marquee
- 20 tickets to “The Man who Came to Dinner,” opening Thursday, April 16, at TWS, with pre-show appetizers and post show desserts.
Silent auction items include:
- a day at Shedd Aquarium
- a weekend at a Bed & Breakfast
- tickets to a wide variety of theaters
Online bidding will take place for those not attending the fundraiser. To bid on an item, email info@theatrewesternsprings.com with your name, phone number, the item you are bidding on and your bid. The minimum bid raise on all items is $25, according to the release.
Online bidding ends at 5 p.m., March 11. The highest online bid may be outbid at the live event.
The Reveal planning committee includes Jennifer Jermano Miller, chair; Bob Baker; Sandra Rasnak; and Stephanie Stomberg.
