Two Ice Rinks Open In La Grange

LA GRANGE, IL — The Park District of La Grange has two ice rinks for residents to enjoy. Both rinks, one a hockey rink and the other a free skate rink, are located at Gilbert Park.

According to the park district website, to know if the rink is open or closed look at the color of the flag located by the rink. The rink is closed when the red flag is up due to the ice not being frozen enough to skate on. You should stay off the ice when the red flag is up for your personal safety and because it will damage the ice. The rink is open if the green flag is up, indicating the ice is frozen and okay to skate on.
