Unity Hospice of Chicagoland Expands Spiritual Support Services Team

Adds Bereavement Coordinator

CHICAGO – Unity Hospice of Chicagoland recently added Katherine E. Valenta, of La Grange, Ill., to join its premier team of bereavement and spiritual support services. Administrator Chaim Klein made the announcement.

In her new role as bereavement coordinator, Valenta will provide support to families who have lost or have terminally ill loved ones. She will oversee funeral arrangements and counseling as well as schedule support groups and memorial services for families.

Valenta is a La Grange, Ill., native and currently serves patients throughout Chicago’s north side. Prior to joining Unity Hospice, Valenta interned at a domestic violence agency and psychiatric hospital. Additionally, she volunteered at a home healthcare agency and church youth program.

Valenta received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration on mental health from Jane Addams College of Social Work at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
