Unlocked La Grange Vehicles Targeted, Valuables Stolen: Police

In another case, a man was charged with disorderly conduct at McDonald's.

LA GRANGE, IL – In recent weeks, La Grange police handled cases involving vehicle burglaries, theft, high school damage and DUI. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:

Vehicle burglaries

  • A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked car Aug. 7 in the 600 block of Bell Avenue.
  • A wallet was stolen from an unlocked car Aug. 26 near Starbucks, 38 S. La Grange Road. The case is pending.
  • Cash and credit cards were stolen from a car with an open sunroof. The theft was reported Sept. 4 in the 100 block of Cossitt Avenue.
  • Tools were stolen from an unlocked work van parked in a driveway during the afternoon of Aug. 12 in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue. The case is pending.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 49-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18 on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the incident occurred at McDonald's, 100 N. La Grange Road.

Theft

  • A 55-year-old Chicago man was arrested on a theft charge. Police said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at 7-Eleven, 6 E. 47th St.

Retail theft

  • A 19-year-old Skokie man was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the downtown train station, 25 W. Burlington Ave., on a retail theft charge.

High school damage

  • A brick was thrown through a window Aug. 8 at Lyons Township High School, 100 S. Brainard Ave. No one was hurt.

Garage burglary

  • A garage door was broken during a break-in reported Aug. 13 in the 800 block of 12th Avenue. Items were stolen. The case is pending.

DUI

  • A 26-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested about 8 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 200 block of North Spring Avenue on a DUI charge.
  • A 29-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 a.m. Aug. 8 on West Ogden Avenue on a DUI charge.
