Update on the LTHS District 204-owned Willow Springs Property

A letter from the District 204 Board of Education

Dear District 204 Community Members,

We’re writing with an update about the Board of Education’s exploration of the sale of the Lyons Township High School District 204-owned Willow Springs property.

As many of you have followed, the Board set out to achieve the highest value possible for the land as our financial responsibility. We are grateful for our engaged community and have heard your feedback, both for and against the land sale. At this time, the Board is no longer soliciting or considering bids at the minimum price and under the current approved terms and conditions.

Information from the initial fact-finding through today’s statement, is outlined on our website. While this phase is closed, the Board remains committed to using the Willow Springs property as an important asset toward achieving Goal 5 in our Strategic Plan.

The Board will continue to explore options on how to maximize the property’s impact for our entire District 204 community. When that time comes, new terms, conditions and pricing would be established.

We understand the stress and uncertainty that many in our community felt these past few months. We welcome and encourage you to continue reaching out to us on this and any other district concerns at boe@lths.net.

We Are LT!
