Wallet Stolen At La Grange Church Function: Police

In another case, a resident reported home repair fraud, with a contractor not returning calls, authorities said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • A woman shopping at a bazaar at First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Cossitt Ave., noticed her wallet stolen from her purse. She reported the theft April 12.

  • A resident in the 200 block of South Spring Avenue told police April 12 about signing a contract last year with a business for work to be done at the house. To date, the business has not completed the work or answered the resident's phone calls. An investigation continues.

Argument

  • Two employees working on the site of Meadowbrook La Grange nursing home, 339 Ninth Ave., got into an argument shortly before noon April 12. Police were called.

  • Bottle & Bottega, 1 W. Harris Ave., told police April 12 that someone tried to pay for items with a counterfeit $100 bill. When the business asked the person for a smaller denomination, he took the bill and left.
