Woman Yells Racial Slur In La Grange Store: Cops
The woman shouted after she initially refused to buy beer that she appeared to be taking out of the store, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – A woman yelled slurs against African Americans and gays earlier this month at a La Grange store.
About 5 p.m. Oct. 4, La Grange police responded to a disturbance at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road, according to a police report obtained through a public records request.
The 69-year-old woman started shouting after she refused at first to buy beer she removed from a shelf and walked near a store exit, police said

The woman ended up buying the beer. People at Walgreens said they did not want to pursue criminal action against the woman.
The store asked the police to issue the woman a no-trespass notice. Employees thought she had been issued a notice before, but the police could not find one in its files.

The woman was given a notice, but she tore up her copy, dropping the pieces on the ground, police said. She walked to a nearby bus stop, and the officers left.
About 10 minutes later, the woman, who is white, returned to the store and yelled the N-word, the report said.
Police were called, but people at the store did not want to file charges.
The woman left on a bus.
