Woman's Body Found In River In Riverside: Police
Authorities first saw the car submerged in the river, then went looking for victims, police say.

LA GRANGE, IL — A car was spotted partially submerged Sunday morning in the Des Plaines River, according to a news release. Officers later found a 23-year-old woman's body under the Barrypoint Bridge, police said.
According to a Riverside police report, officers got a call shortly after 8 a.m. about the red 2017 Hyundai sedan in the river. It was across from the 400 block of Fairbank Road in Riverside.
The car was pulled out of the water about two hours later, but Riverside police said they were uncertain why the car was there in the first place. Authorities had no information on the potential driver and passengers.

The car entered the river off Ogden and Lawndale avenues in Lyons.
According to the news release, Riverside officers searched the shoreline in Riverside for possible victims and found none. Fire personnel flew a drone over the river looking for possible victims, but discovered nothing. It is unknown when the car entered the water.

State police and fire personnel found the woman's body in the water about 1 p.m., the release said. They have not identified her.
