2 Armed Men Rob Lake Bluff Restaurant: Police

Police are searching for a pair of armed robbers who struck Meatheads after closing Sunday night.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — Two men robbed a Lake Bluff restaurant at gunpoint Sunday night just after closing, police said. An employee of Meatheads Restaurant at 955 Rockland Rd., at the intersection of Route 41 and Route 176, called 911 around 10:20 p.m. to report that an armed robber had just taken place.

Police were told a pair of men had come in through a back door as four employees finished up their shifts at the end of the night.

The robbers brandished handguns and demanded money, according to police. They were dressed entirely in black and wore black ski masks. They stole an unknown amount of cash and ran out of the store.

Lake Bluff Deputy Chief Matt Smizinski asked people to call if they noticed anything unusual or suspicious.

"We're asking if anybody had seen anything out of place, given the time of day, traffic's pretty limited getting down around that time," he said. "If something seemed out of place to anyone driving past or anything else in the area, [don't] hesitate to give us a call."
