8 Lake Forest Businesses Have Been Around For 100+ Years

The city of Lake Forest has always been proud of its local business community. This fall, they are beginning a black and white ad campaign highlighting some of the stores locals have come to love for decades.

And while nearly all of the city’s businesses have been around for at least ten years, there are eight that have hit the century-mark and are still running strong.

Griffith, Grant & Lackie, The Deer Path Inn, Wenban Funeral Home, The Lake Forester Newspaper, James Anderson & Co., Northern Trust Bank, Lake Forest Hospital and North Shore Gas are all listed as having been around for more than 100 years, according to the city’s ‘Heritage Business’ website.

Seven others have been in town for more than 50 years.
