8th Grader Wins Deer Path Middle School Geography Bee

Dillon Hollingsworth will attempt to qualify for the Illinois state bee next.

LAKE FOREST, IL - Eighth grader Dillon Hollingsworth emerged as the winner of the Deer Path Middle School Geography Bee and will now take a qualifying test to see if he's eligible for the Illinois state bee in March.

Hollingsworth edged Henry Skarecky, another eighth grader who finished as the runner-up.

Other Deer Path students who competed in the school bee were fifth grader Elise Raffiani, sixth graders Alexandra Fontana, Amelia Fontana, Sidharth Jindal, Aiden Meredith, Manha Mirza and Lili Sandor and seventh grader Ruthanne Sandner.

The bee was part of the National Geographic Bee, of which Hollingsworth remains eligible to compete.
