DUI
Ryan T. Martin, 19, of the 200 block of Ravine Forest Drive in Lake Bluff, was arrested at 4:35 a.m. on June 18 near the intersection of Sheridan and East Sheridan roads. Police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a black BMW was "all over the road." Police tracked down the vehicle, soon witnessed it commit traffic violations and pulled it over. Officers spoke with the driver who they described as appearing impaired "due to his actions" and from the smell of alcohol emanating from his breath. Police found fresh damage to his BMW which indicated it had recently struck a tree. After performing field sobriety tests, police determined Martin was impaired. He was arrested for DUI and taken to the public safety building for processing, where he submitted to a breathalyzer. The test indicated he had a blood alcohol level of 0.161, which is more than twice the legal limit if Martin had been of the legal drinking age. He was processed and released on bond with a court date of Aug. 4 in Waukegan.
