Affordable Health Care Act Program

The Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23,
2010. This new healthcare law not only includes new provisions improving
healthcare in Illinois, but also provisions requiring each state to create a
Health Insurance Marketplace. Beginning October 1, 2013, you will be able to
buy insurance through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace. The online
shopping site allows you to compare and review a wide range of quality health
insurance plans and includes complete information about the premiums,
deductibles, and co-pays before you sign up. Marketplace purchases may be done
online, by mail, over the phone, or in person. There will be financial
subsidies for many individuals and families to help purchase their new
insurance plans. Come and learn more information about the Affordable Care Act,
who qualifies for the financial subsidies, and how you can purchase quality
insurance plans from the Marketplace.
