Molly Scheibler selected as the next Lake Forest Library Director

On August 18, 2026, the Lake Forest Library Board announced that Molly Scheibler has been selected as the new Executive Director. Scheibler has extensive experience in Illinois public libraries, with expertise in administration, strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, and performance management. She has held leadership roles in youth services at Cook-Memorial Public Library District, Fremont Public Library, Glenview Public Library, and Indian Trails Public Library District, and most recently served as Deputy Director at Schaumburg Township District Library. Scheibler earned her MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and since 2018 has been an adjunct instructor in Information Studies.

Scheibler values the partnership among library staff, the library board, the community, and local government in building thriving public libraries. "I look forward to leading such a prestigious institution and working with the committed Library Board of Trustees and dedicated Library Staff to serve Lake Forest in a manner befitting this outstanding community," she said.

Board President Josh Jackson shared, "We are very excited to welcome Molly as our new Executive Director. The energy, ideas, and leadership Molly brings will ensure the Library continues on its positive trajectory."

Board Vice President Emily Van Bel added, "Molly's vision and warmth give us tremendous confidence in the bright future ahead for the Library."

Scheibler will begin at Lake Forest Library in mid-September. We look forward to working together!
