LAKE FOREST, IL — Lake Forest Library has selected Molly Scheibler as its new executive director, with the library board announcing the appointment on Tuesday.
Scheibler, who most recently served as deputy director at Schaumburg Township District Library, is expected to begin in mid-September. Scheibler brings extensive experience in Illinois public libraries, including work in administration, strategic planning, budgeting, hiring and performance management.
She has held leadership roles in youth services at Cook-Memorial Public Library District, Fremont Public Library, Glenview Public Library and Indian Trails Public Library District.
The library board said Scheibler also earned her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since 2018, she has served as an adjunct instructor in Information Studies.
Scheibler said she values the partnership among library staff, the library board, the community and local government in building strong public libraries.
"I look forward to leading such a prestigious institution and working with the committed Library Board of Trustees and dedicated Library Staff to serve Lake Forest in a manner befitting this outstanding community," she said.
Board President Josh Jackson welcomed the appointment in the library's announcement.
"We are very excited to welcome Molly as our new Executive Director. The energy, ideas, and leadership Molly brings will ensure the Library continues on its positive trajectory," Jackson said.
Scheibler is scheduled to start at Lake Forest Library in mid-September. The board said it is looking ahead to working with her as she takes over leadership of the institution.
