Lake Forest College sees new academic year start with largest incoming class in its history (chicagotribune.com) — Lake Forest College is kicking off the year with its largest-ever incoming class, bringing 423 first-years and 116 transfer students to the 107-acre campus. Leaders credit the college's Lake Michigan location, strong career outcomes, and new majors like neuroscience and artificial intelligence, plus close ties to local schools and Rosalind Franklin University, for drawing more students to Lake Forest.

Lake Forest Police Officer Hospitalized in Nicaragua: The Community Works to Bring Him Home (theforestscout.com) — A Lake Forest police officer, Filip Czarnecki, is in a coma in Nicaragua after a serious fall, and colleagues say an expensive medical flight back to Chicago is his best chance for recovery. 3. Bears' offseason party is over as toughest schedule looms (espn.com) — From their Lake Forest base, the Chicago Bears are preparing for what's projected as the NFL's toughest schedule, even after last season's NFC North title.
