• Lake Forest Council Approves 3-Unit Condo Building On Oakwood Avenue (patch.com) — Lake Forest residents will see a key corner at Westminster and Oakwood transformed into a two-story, three-unit condo building with underground parking, replacing the former Marweedy farmhouse and an office. City officials say the unanimously approved project fits the neighborhood's character, uses brick and stucco materials, and will not trigger affordable housing requirements because it has fewer than five units.
• Lake Forest Caucus announces results of 2026 annual meeting vote (lakecountygazette.com) — Lake Forest residents now have preliminary clarity on who the Caucus is backing for mayor, city council, and both District 67 and 115 school boards after 1,126 ballots were cast on October 7. Most proposed candidates received strong majorities, while a few school board hopefuls fell short and will trigger a special meeting, with the Caucus promising more details soon.
• 'That ain't me': Bears' D'Andre Swift laments early fumble issues (espn.com) — From the Bears' Lake Forest practice fields, running back D'Andre Swift is owning up to two early-season fumbles and says they don't reflect his game. Coaches are stressing ball security as Swift nurses minor injuries and Kyle Monangai battles turf toe, even as Chicago's league-leading rushing attack prepares to face a vulnerable Packers run defense.
