Announcing Ragdale Ring Spotlight Series
Ragdale Artist Retreat Presents One-of-a Kind Outdoor Summer Performances – June 25, July 23 and August 20
Ragdale, the nationally acclaimed artist retreat in Lake Forest, kicks off the third annual Ragdale Ring Spotlight Series - three monthly performances on Thursdays at 7pm – June 24, July 23 and August 20. Each event is curated by a Ragdale resident artist at the top of his or her field who will present new and intriguing performances with their creative colleagues .
All events take place at Ragdale in the Ragdale Ring, an open-air performance venue, whose “Shaw Town” design was recently chosen in an international competition for promising, young architects.
Guests are encouraged to bring their family, a beach chair or picnic to enjoy an arts-filled evening on the lawn overlooking the Shaw Prairie at twilight. The summer line-up is:

JUNE 25 TRUE AMERICANA

Jonas Friddle & The Majority, a seven-member band play a fusion of American music styles. Influenced by barn dances, blues, honky-tonks and orchestra halls. Opening act is Chicago’s Young Stracke All-Stars, youth musicians from the Old Town School of Folk Music.
JULY 23 THE RAGDALE RING REVUE
Curator: Meredith Miller, performance artist and cabaret singer
A showcase of the Midwest’s most innovative variety performers, presenting live music, puppetry, circus art and more, that will surprise and delight viewers of all ages.
AUG 20 LOOK AGAIN: STORIES OF DISCOVERY
Co-curators: Megan Stielstra and Amanda Delheimer Dimond
Four storytellers affiliated with 2nd Story explore transformative personal discoveries in presentations that fuse page, stage and sound creating a unique, live, literary/theatrical experience.
All performances take place in the Ragdale Ring, on the west lawn of the Ragdale House, 1230 N. Green Bay Road in Lake Forest. Off-site parking available at any city lot in downtown Lake Forest, a 15 minute walk to Ragdale.
Admission is $20/person, $15 Students and seniors, 12 and under free. Tickets are available through the website at http://www.ragdale.org and also at the door.
