Budget Deadlock Discussion With Local State Rep. Set For Lake Forest

League of Women Voters to host Rep. Scott Drury and fiscal expert for discussion of the budget impasse.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The local branch of the League of Women voters announced details of its annual fiscal policy program, "Understanding the Ongoing Budget Impasse: Pathways to Resolution."

Scheduled for Monday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at the Gorton Community Center, the event is free and open to the public, who are welcome to ask questions, the League said.

The event will feature 58th District State Representative Scott Drury (D, Highwood) and Executive Director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability Ralph Martire. The League said they will discuss the ongoing impasse over the state budget in Springfield, including its impact and when or how to resolve it.

Susan Garrett, former president of the League of Women Voters - Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, former 59th District Illinois State Representative and former 29th District State Senator, will moderate the event. She's currently chairman of the board of directors for the nonpartisan Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.
