Through play, kids develop social, literacy, and cognitive skills—plus, it's just fun! Join us at the Library for fun play activities including blocks, crafts, games, dramatic play, and more.
Younger and older siblings are also welcome!
Registration is not required for this event, but you can sign up if you would like to receive a reminder email 1 day before the program.
Play at the Library is for ages 4 to 7 with an adult. We will have additional Play at the Library programs on October 28th, November 4th, November 11th, and November 18th.

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart’s World Premiere of “Ladies of the Lake” is a ghost story, a mystery and a tale of friendship, healing and the search for belonging.
Through a creative collaboration with the author, Woodlands Academy English teacher and drama co-director Jennifer Brostrom (pen name Jennifer Allison), Woodlands’ cast and crew are bringing the Edgar Award-nominated mystery to life onstage in a spooky but heartwarming production.
Set in the 1990s and adapted from Allison’s critically acclaimed novel, “Ladies of the Lake” features Gilda Joyce, a self-described “psychic investigator,” news reporter and the newest student at Castlegrove Academy, a school with a very complicated past.
Woodlands Academy is an all-girls college-preparatory, day-and-boarding high school located at 760 E. Westleigh Road in Lake Forest, IL 60045.
"Ladies of the Lake" will be performed in the school’s Susan Saint James Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24.
Tickets are $17 at the door but can be purchased for $12 in advance (up to noon the day of each performance) online at
