According to monthly data released in August by the Illinois Department of Employment Security, Illinois job growth continues to lag behind other states and is more than two years behind the nation’s. With continuing layoffs at area corporations like Abbott, Hospira and Walgreens, CRC continues to be a vital service to the people of Cook and Lake Counties as well as those from southeastern Wisconsin.
“To us at CRC, those aren’t just statistics,” said Jan Leahy, CRC’s executive director. “These are real people experiencing the devastating effects of job loss.”
