CDW, Golf and Football Pros Raise Funds for Folds of Honor
Pro golfers and current and former Chicago Bears competed in various challenges to raise nearly $115,000.
CDW - a leading provider of technology solutions to business, government, education and healthcare - donated $114,500 to Folds of Honor, a not-for-profit organization that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to America, last week during an evening of friendly competition among current and former professional athletes at the Walter Payton Center at Halas Hall.
CDW-sponsored PGA TOUR golfers Camilo Villegas and Gary Woodland and current and former members of the Chicago Bears organization, Robbie Gould and Alex Brown, joined emcee and NBC golf analyst Steve Sands for the charity challenge. The professional athletes competed in football, basketball and golf events. Points scored translated to dollars donated to Folds of Honor by CDW and its partners, Intel and Lenovo.
To reach the final donation amount, the athletes competed against each other at each challenge station. The winner of each event added his earnings to the donation:

Hot Shot Basketball –Woodland recreated his college basketball days, nailing layups and three-pointers during the 60-second challenge to earn $36,000
Football Passing Zone –Gould showed the room his football skills extend beyond fierce footwork, passing directly into the center pocket of the 60-second football challenge to raise $60,000

Golf Chip Challenge –Woodland shined at what proved to be the toughest challenge of the night, making several difficult chip shots to secure an additional $18,500 and giving everyone a preview of his performance at the BMW Championship later this week
Folds of Honor founder Maj. Dan Rooney and Folds of Honor scholarship recipients, Skyler, 9 and Alex, 6, along with their mom, Sam Anderson, were on hand to accept the donation from CDW. Garrett Anderson, the girls’ father, was injured while serving in 2005.
