Chala Holland Named Principal at LFHS
The previously controversial candidate is hired with a salary of $160,000 a year.

Chala Holland has been named the next principal at Lake Forest High School.
The Lake Forest High School District 115 Board of Education voted to approve a three-year, performance-based contract for Holland, who currently serves as assistant principal at Oak Park-River Forest High School - according to the Daily North Shore. Her contract comes with a salary of $160,000 a year.

Board member Ted Moorman was the only dissenting vote.
The potential hiring of Holland proved to be a controversial topic in Lake Forest, with some indicating an alleged blog entry made a few years back quoting Malcolm X and a reference to “white privilege” were views too controversial for LFHS.

Others feared her possible opposition to tracking would eliminate Advanced Placement courses at the school, even though the principal alone would not be able to make that decision and the superintendent has made it clear that tracking would not be eliminated.
