Chicago Man Last Seen On Canoe Is Missing; Could Be Traveling Lake North of City

Federico "Fede" Borman of Albany Park has been reported missing to the Chicago Police.

A 24-year-old man possibly traveling Lake Michigan in a 17-foot homemade canoe has been missing for nearly a week.

Federico “Fede” Borman, of Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood was last seen alone on the Chicago River near Foster Avenue around 2 p.m. on May 6. He has since been reported as missing to the Chicago Police Department.

Friends have said it’s possible he could be along the shore of Lake Michigan north of Chicago heading to Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or Canada, or possibly be camping along the lake shore in secluded areas in a 2-man orange and white tent.

The canoe he was last seen in is white/yellow in color with fiber-glass finish and a “rough, unfinished look” - according to a flyer. It may have a trolling motor and multiple dry bags of gear.

• May be carrying/riding old, rusty blue schwinn road bike
