Chimney Fire Damages Home in Lake Forest
A Code 4 fire was reported Wednesday night at a home on Illinois Road in Lake Forest.
LAKE FOREST, IL - A Lake Forest home sustained significant damage Wednesday night due to a chimney fire.
The fire was reported by a passerby at 7:18 p.m. in the 400 block of east Illinois Road and crews quickly upgraded the response to a Code 4, which brought in firefighters from nearby departments to assist in "the extinguishment, overhaul, and station coverage," according to a Lake Forest Fire Department news release.
An initial investigation indicates a broken water pipe contributed to the damage of the home, which is estimated to be at approximately $30,000.

The occupants of the home were not displaced.
