Concerts Held in Memory of Longtime Loyalist

Lake Forest Symphony concerts on March 21 and 22 were held in honor of Granger Cook, Jr., who founded the Advisory Board.

Lake Forest Symphony concerts held over the weekend were held in honor of Granger Cook, Jr. - a Lake Forest resident and Orchestra devotee who passed away recently.

According to a community post on the Lake County News-Sun website, Cook, for many years, “championed the cause of cultural excellence in the Lake County community.”

“Granger founded the Lake Forest Symphony Advisory Board, a group of prominent local donors who regularly contribute to the Symphony’s endowment fund and this Board grew from six members to the current forty-five,” said Lake Forest Symphony Executive Director Susan Lape. “Mr. Cook involved himself in all aspect of the Orchestra and will always be remembered for his sincere and overwhelming dedication to this organization.”
