Formerly at ReInvent Gallery in Lake Forest (reborn as popular eatery The Gallery restaurant), Madelyn Sergel of Contemporary Tarot now offers tarot card consultations at Loverly Cottage in Lake Bluff, Wednesdays from 12PM to 3PM and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM.
Madelyn explains her approach as “A Contemporary Tarot reading is a conversation about you. I don’t tell the future, I work with you to explore your now. Each reading is designed for the individual client.”

Amidst the chatter of the 24/7 news cycle and constant social media noise, it is very rare to have an experience which is singularly focused on you, about you. Loverly Cottage & Contemporary Tarot are located at 5 Skokie Valley Rd, Lake Bluff IL 60044, set back just a bit from the corner of 176 and Skokie Valley Rd and across the street from Knauz Auto. The Loverly Cottage offers a charming mix of vintage, antiques and new treasures, beautifully curated by owner Juliet Labeille. There are French Cottage inspired painted furniture, soy candles, soaps, milk paint and more in the boutique as well as place for workshops and furniture painting. Clients may choose a piece from the warehouse or even bring in their own pieces for custom painting.

Madelyn has been reading tarot cards for over thirty years for individuals, small groups, and at larger company events and fundraisers. Also a playwright, freelance writer, she was the founding artistic director of Clockwise Theatre and a professional actor. For her work at Clockwise Theatre, she was selected as one of the Daily Herald’s Influential Women in Business (2015).
