Cops Find Meth, Cocaine on Driver During Traffic Stop

Milwaukee resident Steven Wright faces several charges following a stop earlier this month on IL Route 41.

Lake Forest police found methamphetamine and crack cocaine on a Milwaukee man during a traffic stop for impaired driving earlier this month, according to a police report.

Steven Wright, 54 was stopped at IL Route 41 and Gage Lane at 3:11 a.m. on September 2 after police received a report of a possible impaired driver and after seeing his car cross lane markings several times.

During the stop, police found methamphetamine, crack cocaine and open alcohol on Wright, who failed a field sobriety test and had a revoked license for previous DUI charges.

Wright was taken into custody and cited for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, driving while license revoked, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
