CROCtoberfest at the Wildlife Discovery Center

Have a snapping good time at CROCtoberfest

The Wildlife Discovery Center at Elawa Farm in Lake Forest will be hosting CROCtoberfest, a family-friendly celebration of one of the world’s most ancient and amazing animal families – the Crocodilians.

Visitors to CROCtoberfest can chat with members of the Chicago Herpetological Society (CHS) while meeting live alligators, crocodiles, caimans and other reptiles. WDC's own collection of crocodilians will also be featured. The whole family can listen to a fun and informative update on the Siamese Crocodile, along with a presentation on “Crocodiles in Chicago,” from noon-1:00 pm.

CROCtoberfest also offers kid-friendly activities, face painting, a storyteller, WDC’s Wild Side Store, and local vendors.

A $5 donation per person, payable at the door, is suggested. Proceeds from CROCtoberest will help support the high level of care the Wildlife Discovery Center gives all its animals. Additionally, a portion of the day’s proceeds will go towards crocodile conservation.

Plan to bring the whole family for an exciting, educational and fun celebration!
