1 Dead, 3 Injured In Fiery Rollover Crash In Lake Forest

One person is dead and three people were taken to local hospitals after an early morning crash on Route 41 and Westleigh Road.

LAKE FOREST, IL — One person was killed and three others were hospitalized in a crash early Friday in Lake Forest.

Police and fire personnel arrived at the scene of a one-car crash on northbound Route 41 at the bend just north of Westleigh Road. The vehicle left the road, struck several trees and rolled down a steep embankment, according to police.

Three injured occupants were found by rescuers and taken to local hospitals after assessments by paramedics. Police said one person died at the scene.

The Lake County Coroner's Office was called to the scene, and the identity of the dead and injured was ongoing, according to police.

Northbound Route 41 was closed for several hours Friday morning as Lake Forest police and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team investigates. Traffic was diverted via Westleigh Road.
