Deer Path Inn Hotel Will Open New Year's Day

Guests will be allowed to make reservations for the first time in nearly a year.

LAKE FOREST, IL - The historic Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest will once again be open for hotel guests come January 1, according to the Lake Forester.

A major renovation to the inn’s interior took up the bulk of 2015, but the integrity of the design has not been compromised.

“It has been our priority to maintain the integrity of the historic design, and the essence of what people have always loved about the inn,” said Matt Barba, the hotel’s general manager.

The inn’s two featured dining venues - The English Room and The Bar - opened on Dec. 5.

Among the improvements made at the hotel are an expanded lobby, new millwork in the ceiling and stone inlaid tiles on the lobby floor.

The renovations were originally planned to occur over a period of 15 months.

“Knowing what the Deer Path Inn means to the community, it was important for us to re-open as soon as physically possible,” Barba said. “Once things got going, we saw an opportunity to finish sooner than originally scheduled.”
