District 65 Superintendent in 'Awe' of Teachers

Dr. Jean Sophie describes the dedication put forth through the summer and start of new school year.

Lake Bluff Schools District 65 Superintendent Dr. Jean Sophie said she continues to be “in awe” of the district’s teaching staff, both at Lake Bluff Middle School and Lake Bluff Elementary School.

“They worked so hard over the summer – over 970 hours on curriculum alone! – and still jumped back in at full energy last week, filled with enthusiasm for the new school year,” Sophie wrote in an email to parents following the first day of classes.”

The superintendent added that the summer at District 65 was “filled with continuing professional education, a very successful summer school and continued work on designs for Lake Bluff Middle School,” which included “many meetings with teaching staff to refine the drawings and explore renovations of, and improvements for, the science labs/STEM areas.”
