Dold Honored for Support of National Service
The U.S. Congressman from Illinois' 10th District will be honored alongside John McCain, others in the nation's capitol Tuesday.

Bob Dold, U.S. Congressman for Illinois’ 10th District, will be honored for his support for national service at the annual Friends of National Service Awards slated for Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Washington, D.C.
Dold will be awarded the Outstanding National Service Advocacy Award by Voices for National Service, a “diverse coalition of national service programs, state service commissions and individual champions who work to ensure Americans of all ages have the opportunity to volunteer in their community,” according to a news release.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award from Voices for National Service,” said Dold. “Programs that educate young people about national service, such as my Young Women’s Leadership Academy, enable young Americans to contribute to their communities and thrive. I was honored to bring Lavell Brown, a graduate of YouthBuild Lake County, to the State of the Union to highlight the importance of continuing to grow these programs.”
