Drug Charge On Campus, SUVs Swiped With Keys Inside: Blotter
Lake Forest Police Blotter: June 19 - June 30

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of police activity. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLES
Police received calls from two residents that their cars had been stolen in the early morning hours of June 22 and responded to the area of Suffolk Lane and Danbury Court. Police determined that a 2016 Land Rover, containing a wallet, credit cards and a large amount of case, and a 2009 Buick Enclave were both stolen Police said both vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside. No suspects were identified and the investigation continues, according to police.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL
A 17-year-old Lake Forest boy was arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. on June 25 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol after police on routine patrol in the area of Everett Road and Country Place saw a black Jeep Wrangler make several traffic violations. Police pulled over the SUV near Waukegan and Westleigh Road and spoke with the juvenile driver. Police immediately smelled alcohol coming from the driver and noticed an open container of beer in the center console. The boy failed field sobriety tests, was arrested, processed and released on bond.
ACTIVE WARRANTS, ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL, REVOKED LICENSE
A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:32 p.m. on June 26. Police were on routine patrol in the area of Ryan and Western when they noticed a gold SUV stop on the railroad tracks and block the roadway and tracks. Police pulled over the SUV and spoke to the driver, who told them his license had been revoked. Police also found the driver was also wanted on two warrants from DuPage County for failure to appear and located an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
OVERWEIGHT TRUCK, NO VALID LICENSE/INSURANCE
A 36-year-old Zion man was cited for driving an overweight truck, having expired insurance and not having a valid license at 7:49 a.m. on June 27. Police said his vehicle was 7,8000 lbs. overweight.
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
An 18-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested on June 30 at 1:50 a.m. on the 200 block of Washington Road. Lake Forest College security guards contacted police after they found an occupied Jeep Cherokee parked at Halas Hall on school property from when several apparent teens ran. Responding Lake Forest Police found a vehicle with the Lake Forest man inside. After speaking with him, police said they found a baggie containing 15 Xanax pills in his possession. He was arrested and charged with two felony counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, which were later reduced.
