Drug Dealer Who Lives Next To High School Busted: Cops
Police said they began investigating the man after getting a tip he was selling narcotics from his home to Lake Forest High School students.

LAKE FOREST, IL — A man who lives beside Lake Forest High School was arrested this week on drug charges following a search of his home that triggered a brief soft lockdown at the school, police said.
Sage Lawrence, 22, of the 300 block of Noble Avenue in Lake Forest, was arrested Wednesday after officers executed a search warrant on his home, according to Lake Forest police.
Police said the investigation began in late November 2018 when police got a tip that Lawrence was selling drugs to high school students from his home, which is located immediately south of school property.

With the help of Lake Forest police dog K9 Chase, officers found nearly 47 grams of hallucinogenic psilocybin mushrooms and a felonious amount of marijuana, according to a statement from Lake Forest police.

Police reported finding 31 "vape" cartridges containing THC, drug paraphernalia and drug dealing supplies in his home. According to one of the charges, Lawrence possessed between 30 and 100 grams of cannabis.
According to police and court records, Lawrence faces three felony charges, a misdemeanor and a traffic citation. The criminal charges include unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, a class 3 felony, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, both class 4 felonies, and unlawful possession of cannabis, a class A misdemeanor.

Lawrence was also issued an unlawful possession of cannabis in a vehicle by a driver citation.
Police reminded residents to understand the new Illinois cannabis law, including what remains illegal when it comes to the possession and use of cannabis.
