Drunk Wisconsin Man Crashes Jaguar In Lake Forest: Blotter

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police and Lake County court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Christopher Harper, 47, of the 38300 block of North Manor Street, Beach Park, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Jan. 16 after crashing a Cadillac sedan into a marked police car near the intersection of Westleigh and Valley roads. After striking the bumper of the squad car, the Cadillac careened across the street and ruptured a gas main. Officers found a small empty bottle of liquor, several unopened bottles and a container of cannabis in the case. The incident required North Shore Gas to be called to the scene and Westleigh Road to be closed for several hours. Harper was charged with driving with a license revoked for a previous DUI arrest and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver. Roberto Lopez-Espinosa, 50, of the 700 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were dispatched to the area of Green Bay and East Onwentsia roads for multiple reports of a Toyota driving on the wrong side of the road. Police found the vehicle the callers described and noticed that it had struck a street sign and was driving with a flat tire. Officers noticed the driver, Lopez-Espinosa, smelled strongly of alcohol and appeared to be drunk. He was also ticketed for improper lane usage and not driving on the right side of the road.

Bradley F. Bartuch, 30, of the 200 block of Mills Court, Lake Forest, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 22 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near Waukegan Road and Lynette Drive. An officer reported spotting him drive down the middle of the road and carry out various other traffic violations before pulling him over, smelling alcohol and requesting that Bartuch complete some field sobriety tests. Police also issued him an improper lane usage citation.
Christine A. Rivero, 49, of the 800 block of Everett Road, Lake Forest, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after an officer found her parked on the side of the road behind the wheel of a Mercedes with its emergency lights activated near the intersection of Everett and Old Elm roads. Police reported that she admitted drinking before driving and showed signs of impairment prior to her arrest.

Sammy D. Lee, 54, of the 900 block of Washington Road in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 13 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after police got a call of a Jaguar swerving in traffic on northbound Route 41. Officers found the vehicle had been involved in a traffic crash at Westleigh Road, and during the investigation, determined Lee, the driver, appeared to be drunk. He was also issued citations for driving below the minimum speed limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
