Elizabeth E. Brown, a Lake Forest, IL resident since 1948, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2022. She died peacefully at home. Active for many years in Republican circles, Mrs. Brown was elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1980. She served as state central committeewoman from the 12th Congressional District from 1973-1982 and was also president of the 12th Cong. District Women’s Club. In addition, she was president of the 10th Cong. District and Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Women’s Republican Clubs. An elected precinct committeeman, she was also involved in the Lake Co. Republication Federation and the Illinois Federation of Republican Women.
In addition to her political interests, Mrs. Brown was president of the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society and also served on the Women’s Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Easter Seal Society.
Born on August 2, 1923 in Omaha to John Dwight and Lois (Howell) Evans and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Brown was a cum laude graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was also a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Mrs. Brown was the widow of Paul H. Brown, the dear mother of the late Douglas of Ely, MN and Gwenyth of Lake Forest. Loving grandmother of Joshua and dear sister of the late J. Dwight Evans (Rose) of Arlington, VA. She was blessed with the loving care of numerous caregivers since 2013, especially Bridget, Angeles and Victoria.
