Elizabeth Twede, 92, Chicago

Elizabeth Kerwin Twede died on September 14, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois of complications from Alzheimer disease. Elizabeth was born in Evanston, Illinois to Mary G. and Charles C. Kerwin on March 2, 1930. Elizabeth grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and attended Ferry Hall School in Lake Forest, Illinois. She’s a graduate of Finch Junior College (’50) in New York City. Elizabeth was an active member of Lake Forest Infant Welfare Auxiliary Board Chairing Antiques & Treasures in the Field and Showcase House. She was a member Northshore League of Women Voters and Metropolitan Family Services of Chicago, A former board member of Locust Street Company, Evansville, Indiana, longtime supporter of Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and longtime member of Church of St. Mary, Lake Forest, Illinois. Elizabeth was married to Oren T. Pollock of Lake Forest, Illinois from 1951-1984, Charles R. Twede of Burlington, Washington from 1987-2000. She was proceeded in death by Oren Pollock, Charles Twede, sister and brother-in-law Mary K. and George Murphy, Jr., and Son Charles K. (Suzanne). Elizabeth is mother to Katherine G. Pollock (Lesley Spencer), Nancy P. Patterson (Thomas), and Edward L. Pollock (Tracy). Her seven grandchildren Oren (Sarah), Claire, Bob (Libby) Matteson, Laura (Tyler Matlock), Rebecca (John Krzyston) Patterson, Elizabeth & Neal Pollock: eight great grandchildren Eleanor, Olivia, Gigi, Henry, Shepard, Prescott, Miller, and Merritt. Her sister Margaret K. Crane (William) and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) or Infant Welfare Society Chicago.
