Family and friends of John Sheppard, Jr. will hold the 8th annual John Sheppard Skateboard Contest on Saturday, Sept. 15 (rain date Sunday) at Blair Park, located at Greenbay Rd. and Washington Ave. in Lake Bluff.
Sign-in will be at noon and contest begins at 1pm for ages 18 and under. Signed waivers are required and are available at www.lakebluffparks.org, the Lake Bluff Park District office and CROYA. There will be music, food and great prizes.
This contest is organized each year in John's memory to celebrate his love of skateboarding, to provide young skaters a fun afternoon and to support improvements to the skate park through selling snacks and tshirts and donations.
