Family Roofing And HVAC Business Started With Sheet Metal In 1952

LR Gregory & Son in Lake Bluff is on its third generation of family ownership.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — L. R. Gregory & Son is a third generation sheet metal company at 1233 Rockland Rd. in Lake Bluff providing duct and flashing, to service heating cooling and roofing to North Shore customers.

"We are in the HVAC and Roofing business to provide excellent service and installation for our customers, thereby retaining and gaining 'word of mouth' clientele," Jim Gregory told Patch's Small Business Spotlight. His grandfather founded the company in 1952.

Gregory said it can sometimes be difficult to get the word out to customers about the heating, cooling, roofing and plumbing company.

In addition to being a part of the with the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce and the Lake County Heating and Cooling Association, L.R. Gregory & Son gives back to the community through involvement with the local Rotary Club and Lions Club.

The company takes the most pride in finding solutions for each customer's specific issue, he said.

"One in particular was designing and installing unique 'Bermuda style' copper panels for a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Lake Forest."
