Fire Damages House in Lake Forest

One firefighter suffered a minor injury during Thursday's structure fire on Green Briar Lane.

A Thursday afternoon house fire in Lake Forest left one firefighter injured and $200,000 worth of damage.

Lake Forest Fire Department crews responded to the 700 block of Green Briar Lane shortly after noon and saw smoke and flames showing from the roof of the home.

According to a Lake Forest Fire Department news release, an aggressive attack from units from Highland Park, Highwood, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Deerfield, Lake Bluff, Knollwood, Gurnee, North Chicago and Countryside quickly brought the fire into control, and an all-clear was given about two hours after the first crews arrived.

“Since the home had many different roof lines and vaulted ceilings, the crews encountered many hidden fires,” according to the release.

No civilians were injured in the blaze, which caused a minor injury to one firefighter.
