Forbes Ranks Lake Forest Resident Among Top Women Wealth Advisers

LAKE FOREST, IL — A Lake Forest resident has been named among the top women wealth advisers in the country for the third year in a row. Maureen Raihle, an adviser with Merril Private Wealth Management in Chicago, was ranked No. 39 on the 2019 Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisor list.

Raihle, 56, has worked in investment management since 1985. She joined Merrill Lynch in 1987 as a certified private wealth adviser, becoming one of the founding members in Merrill's private banking group after spending time as a personal banker and on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange earlier in her career.

"It is a privilege to be included on such an elite list of accomplished women financial advisors who are equally committed to supporting their clients’ objectives," Raihle said. "This achievement is the product of the trust our practice has built with clients throughout Chicagoland, and for that I am very grateful.”

Raihle is a partner and co-founder of the Ver Bockel Raihle Group, with John P. Ver Bockel, which advises the richest people and their families on how to preserve to preserve their wealth across generations.

According to the rankings, Raihle's team has about $1.7 billion in assets in custody. Its minimum account size for new business is $2.5 million and the typical size of its household account is $10 million to $20 million.

Forbes has previously rated Raihle as No. 17 on its list of top wealth advisers in the Chicago area. She has also been named to the Financial Times' FT400, Barron's Top 1200 Financial Advisors State-by-State and Top 100 Women Financial Advisors lists.

The only Illinois-based adviser to rank higher than Raihle in the 2019 Forbes list of top female advisers is Sharon Oberlander, of the Oberlander Group in Chicago, who was ranked sixth in the nation.
