Frances Goerler, 102, Lake Forest

Frances (Nantz) Goerler born May 27, 1920, and passed away peacefully at the age of 102. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois where she lived her entire life. She was married to her beloved husband Floyd “PeeWee” Goerler for over 60 years. Sadly, he preceded her in death. She missed him dearly. So much that she kept his ashes by her side through the remainder of her life.

Frances had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Margaret (John) Jaronik, Katherine (Ray) Kilponen, Milton (Sheri) Nantz and Shelly (Mertle) Nantz. All of her siblings preceded her in death.

Frances has left behind great-nieces, nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and a great-great-great nephew, who she was able to see many pictures prior to her death.

Frances worked at Korf’s Department Store as a young woman. She was always well dressed and her hair was always done beautifully. She and PeeWee enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends and being with family.

Frances passed away peacefully under the loving care of the staff from the Hospice Team from Journey Care and some very special nurses, who she adored, from The Welshire in Lincolnshire.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Grave Site located at the Ascension Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:30 am. Friends are welcome to join the family for the service. As Frances is placed in her final resting place alongside her beloved husband, PeeWee.

Donations can be made in honor of Frances to Journey Care or Chamberlin School of Nursing (Great, niece and great-great niece are nurses and to honor the nurses at Welshire).
